The shot blasting machine guard plate is made of high chromium cast iron. The cast iron parts play a great role in the shot blasting machine.

The heat treatment of iron castings and its characteristics are:

Cast iron is different from steel. Due to the existence of graphite and the difference in metal matrix and chemical composition, the heat treatment of cast iron has special functions. The eutectoid change of cast iron occurs in a suitably wide temperature range.

In this temperature range, there is a stable equilibrium (ferrite-austenite-graphene) and a metastable equilibrium (ferrite-austenite-carburized system). Different temperatures in the eutectoid temperature range correspond to different equilibrium quantities of ferrite and austenite. In this way, as long as different heating temperatures and holding times are controlled, different proportions of ferrite and pearlite matrix structures can be obtained. Therefore, the mechanical function of cast iron can be adjusted within a large fluctuation.

Most of the shot blasting machine accessories are made of iron castings and steel castings, so the heat treatment of iron castings is very important. Heat treatment basically cannot change the shape and distribution characteristics of graphite. Therefore, the effect of heat treatment of cast iron is closely related to the shape of graphite existing in the cast iron matrix. The heat treatment of gray cast iron has certain limitations.

Graphite in ductile iron is spherical and has little effect on weakening the matrix. Therefore, all kinds of heat treatment methods that can change the metal matrix are very useful for ductile iron castings.
